The White Sox beat the living heck out of the '82 Brewers on May 13. Former Appleton Fox LaMarr Hoyt had an easy time in a 13-2 win at Comiskey Park.
Mike Caldwell allowed nine runs on thirteen hits in five innings for the loss. The score was only 4-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, but Chicago scored three times in the fifth and five more times in the sixth. Ron LeFloire hit a grand slam in the sixth to knock Caldwell out.
Greg Luzinski also homered in the game for the Sox.
Hoyt allowed ten hits and two runs in the complete game victory.

The Brewers fell to 16-14, 4-1/2 games of the pace set by Boston in the AL East with their fourth loss in a row.
Game two of the series with the White Sox is on May 14.
