SEATTLE (MAJ: 16-15; 3rd AL West): The Mariners beat the Yankees 3-0. Former Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titan Jarrod Washburn allowed six hits over eight innings for the win. JJ Putz (WI ’00) pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez drove in one of the three Seattle runs.
TACOMA (AAA: 15-21; 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 7-4 at Round Rock. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) had a pair of hits and scored a run for Tacoma. Jake Woods took the loss.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 16-19; T-3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 3-1 at Mississippi. Chris Minaker (WI ’06) had two hits and scored a run for West Tennessee. Joe Woerman (WI ’06) pitched five innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits for the loss.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 13-22; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Stockton 11-5. Adam Moore (WI ’06) had four hits, including a home run, and drove in a pair of runs for High Desert. Michael Saunders (WI ’06) had three hits and knocked in a run for the Mavs.
