Mariner System Report (Games of 5/6)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 13-13; T-2nd AL West): The Mariners lost 5-0 to the Yankees in New York. Former Wisconsin-Oshkosh pitcher Jarrod Washburn took the loss. Jose Vidro had two of Seattle’s four hits.

TACOMA (AAA: 14-17; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 6-2 to Salt Lake. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) homered for Tacoma for one of Tacoma’s four hits.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 14-16; 3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Mobile 5-4. Prentice Redman’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth drove in the winning run. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) drove in a pair of runs for West Tennessee.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 11-20; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Modesto 5-4 in ten innings. Jose Escalona (WI ’06) gave up one hit over five scoreless innings and left with a 3-0 lead. But Modesto scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth. The Mavericks tied the game on Josh Womack RBI single in the ninth. A throwing error in the tenth allowed the winning run to score.
