The '97 Mariners were off on May 1. They were in action at the Kingdome against the Brewers. They were the only team in action, too. Seattle beat Milwaukee 8-1.
Randy Johnson struck out eleven over eight innings and allowed only three hits and a home run by Matt Mieske.
Jeff D'Amico and Sean Maloney got knocked around by the usual suspects. Dan Wilson and Alex Rodriguez both homered off D'Amico. Ken Griffey hit his 14th homer of the season, a three run shot off Maloney in the sixth.
Complete boxscore and play-by-play are HERE.
The win put Seattle at 17-11. The '97 Mariners were still in first and 1-1/2 games in front of the Texas Rangers.
