Brewers: May 6, 1982

The '82 Brewers beat the Twins 6-3 at County Stadium on May 6.

Pete Vuckovich won his fourth game of the season as he gave up three runs on six hits over eight innings. Rollie Fingers got his fifth by getting the final three outs.

But, it was a big hit by Benji that was the difference.

The Crew were holding on to a 3-2 lead with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Ben Oglivie doubled off Brad Havens to score Kevin Bass, Robin Yount, and Cecil Cooper for a 6-2 lead.

Vuke gave up two straight singles to start the top of the ninth. Fingers came on and gave up a sac fly and a single. Then, he got out of the jam by inducing Gary Gaetti to ground into a game ending double play.

The win put Milwaukee at 13-10. They are still in third place and still 3-1/2 games behind the Red Sox in the AL East.
