Brewers: May 8, 1982

The '82 Brewers crushed the Minnesota Twins 12-1 on May 8. Mike Caldwell pitched a complete game and allowed only a seventh inning run. Robin Yount (3 RBI) and Gorman Thomas (4 RBI) led the way for the offense.

A Ben Oglivie ground out put the Crew in front 1-0 in the third inning. Thomas stepped in after an intentional walk to Ted Simmons. Gorman blasted a three-run homer for a 4-0 lead.

Milwaukee added three runs in the sixth, an error and a sac fly by Yount leading to the runs. In the eighth, the Brewers put the game away with five runs. Paul Molitor had a two run triple and Thomas had an RBI.

Milwaukee's third win in a row put their record at 15-10. They are tied with Detroit for second place in the AL East, 2-1/2 games behind the Red Sox.

The four game series with the Twins at County Stadium ends on May 9.
