The week ahead
Deadlines, meetings, decide if I should get a haircut, trip to Arizona, work on the media guide, conference call, decide if I want to make a fool of myself in the Right Field Bleachers Bracket Challenge...
Oh, that third one?
Yes. I will be in Arizona starting Thursday evening. The plan is for me to hang out at Spring Training and file reports on how future and past Timber Rattlers players are playing.
Depending on how the internet connection is at the minor league diamonds, I'll have some results on how those are going as they are going. Does that make sense?
The dates that I will be at the Spring Training Complex are Friday 3/19 through Monday, 3/22.
So, stay tuned to Rattler Radio, the Timber Rattlers Main Page, the Timber Rattlers Facebook page, the Timber Rattlers Twitter feed, and my Twitter feed.
I will do my best to keep you updated on what is going on with the Timber Rattlers in Spring Training at any and/or all of those internet-type places.
I will even try to bring back some good weather for the start of the 2010 season.

Just a little fair warning
This should be posted around the time the bus is passing the Highway 20 exit on I-94.
There could have been a few posts before the bus left this morning, but there was a little work to do and packing and all that boring stuff that goes into preparing for a road trip.
I'll have a few things from the hotel this afternoon and a bit more from the ballpark before the game.
Then, it'll be game time.
Until then, just check out Sportsbubbler.com around noon. The new This Week in Timber Rattler Baseball will be posted over there. I found the video for the Major League play that was similar to that play in the Lansing game a few days ago. And special musical guest R.E.M.
Oh, almost forgot...Here are the scheduled pitching matchups for the series with the Silver Hawks:
FRI: LHP Evan Frederickson (1-1, 7.79)* vs. RHP Trevor Harden (4-1, 2.64)
SAT: RHP Cody Adams (1-2, 3.60)** vs. RHP Brett Moorhouse (0-3, 4.95)
SUN: RHP Michael Bowman (0-1, 2.50) vs. LHP Wade Miley (1-1, 3.18)
*-Efrain Nieves is scheduled to pitch in relief
**-Wily Peralta is scheduled to pitch in relief

The plan for Tuesday
The Timber Rattlers hope to see you out at the stadium for Fan Fest presented by Palermo's Pizza tomorrow. Remember free admission, free food, autographs, lots of stuff. See the new video scoreboard in person.
If I don't sleep through all 25 alarms tomorrow morning, there will be a few things posted here in the morning. Then, maybe a few pictures for in mid afternoon...But, I can't promise anything because I am hoping to tape a few interviews for the TV show that will be seen on Time Warner Cable Sports 32 this season. The name has been changed to Timber Rattlers Field Pass and there will be twice as many episodes this season.
That means there will be twice as many opportunities for me to make a fool of myself.
Lastly, around 2:45, there will be a live blog of the scrimmage between the Rattlers and UW-Oshkosh. If you can't make it to the game, tune in here to follow the action.

What I would like to do is to introduce our new readers to the Midwest League and introduce the long time readers to the Brewer organization.
Watch for these posts sporadically over the next few weeks. Unless I win Powerball tomorrow night. Then, I'll be writing them all in one night.

Something to look forward to
I'm going to take pictures of some of the interesting new features at Modern Woodmen Park and post them tomorrow.
I know that the Tiki Bar is getting a lot of the pub, but the rows of corn are something else.
Speaking of Tiki Bars, I finally got around to getting the new John Hiatt CD. Going to listen to it right now.
Oh, and the countdown clock to the 2009 opener is getting bumped to the top again.

What was that about a plan?
That plan in the post below....it has solidified into something in the last fifteen minutes.
Here's the deal for today:
The doubleheader will not start at noon.
The grounds crew will continue to work on the field.
There will be an update at 2:30pm.
The hope is for the doubleheader to start at either 4:00pm of 5:00pm. So, if you couldn't make it last night or today, come on out this evening. If the teams can play on the field.
One positive note...The sun is out:

The tarp was like a skating rink. The snow built up over night and made it impossible to pull off the field without clearing at least some.
As I type this post, the grounds crew is still working on getting the snow off the outfield.
The plan referred to above is to still play, we are just waiting on word for when the doubleheader will start.
The starting pitchers for today are:
Game 1: LHP Edward Paredes vs. LHP Derek Holland
Game 2: RHP Nathan Adcock vs. RHP Ryan Tatusko
