The internet broadcast is fixed...

The three of you who both read this blog and listen to the internet broadcast, will be happy to know that the issue has been resolved for today.

There was an problem with a power outage on Saturday morning that knocked the whole thing out of the loop.

Consider yourself back in the loop today.

Tonight might be a little weird...

For the first time in about two years, I will be doing this game without the internet. The wireless system in Lansing is down, and they turned off all the spare phone lines during their remodeling.

Has it been a crutch for all these years? Tune in tonight. It will be fun.

Friday's start time

Just got word that the start of tonight's game has been pushed back to 6:45pm. The pre-game will be on at 6:25pm.

Of course, as I type this it just started raining harder than it has all day.

The tarp is on the field and has been since the team arrived at Pohlman Field around 2:45pm this afternoon.

However, the field has not been groomed or lined or anything. So, I'm guessing that 6:45pm is a bit, um, optimistic. Or, is that me being pessimistic? I guess I'll know in about twenty minutes.

UPDATE: I was right!?!? Game time has been pushed back again to 7:00pm. The tarp is off the infield right now. Looking better all the time.

Apologies

Sorry about the problem with the start of the internet broadcast last night. There was a miscommunication with the company that handles that and the broadcast got on late.

I believe that the miscommunication has been properly re-communicated and today will go forth without a single hitch....OPTIMISM! See how I brought that back around?

Here is the link to the broadcast. Make sure you click on WJMQ for the Rattler feed. For the heck of it, try Ben over on the River Bandit feed.

Your e-mails are welcome. Rattlerradioaolcom.

Enjoy the day.

For the new listeners out there

It looks like there are quite a few new readers of Rattler Radio over the last few days. That means there are quite a few new listeners to the radio/internet broadcasts this season.

Here's what you can expect when you tune in to hear yourself some Mehring:

"I'm not sure what that means." You'll hear that a lot, new listeners. I'm told that you get used to it.

According to this website, the real announcer of that above video was John Mayer. Tell you what, John. You stop with your accurate imitations of me as a baseball announcer; I'll stop with my dead-on versions of Why Georgia and Gravity*. You will no longer be confused with a middling Low-A minor league announcer and I will no longer be confused with a Grammy-Award winning singer-songwriter. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Tip of the cap to Awful Announcing.

*-For some reason, I can't quite capture Waiting on the World to Change.
