Two moves for today:

RHP Nick Bucci has been moved to the disabled list retroactive to 8/19

RHP Eric Arnett has been activated from the disabled list for tonight.

Rattlers roster is at the 25-man limit.

IF Cutter Dykstra has been placed on the DL

IF Connor Lind has been transferred to Wisconsin from Helena

August 14, 2010: Transaction

Earlier this week, Eric Arnett went on the disabled list, retroactive to August 11.  The Rattlers were one under the 25 man limit.

The Rattlers are now at the 25 man limit.

RHP Rigoberto Almonte joins the Timber Rattlers today.

The moves for today:

LHP Caleb Thielbar has been transferred from Wisconsin to Helena.

LHP Efrain Nieves has returned from the Central American Games, and has been reinstated from Wisconsin's temporary inactive list.

RHP Andy Sauter is on the disabled list.

LHP Tony Butler ('07) has been transferred to Wisconsin from Helena.

July 20, 2010: Transactions

The moves for today:

INF Kyle Dhanani has been transferred from Wisconsin to Brevard County. Dhanani will join Brevard today and will be placed on the DL (at Brevard) effective today, 7/20.

RHP Hiram Burgos has been transferred from Helena to Wisconsin.

INF Joey Paciorek has completed his rehab assignment with Arizona Brewers and has been reinstated from the DL at Wisconsin.

This puts the roster at the 25 player limit for the Timber Rattlers.

June 27, 2010: Transaction

Just got the official word.

Pete Fatse has been promoted to Brevard County in the Florida State League.

There has been no corresponding roster move to add a player at this time.

The Wisconsin roster is at 24, one under the Midwest League limit of 25.

Jeffress joins Timber Rattlers

Normally, I would headline this transactions, but it seems like it is a little more noteworthy.

The moves:

RHP Damon Krestalude has been placed on the DL at Wisconsin retroactive to 6/7.

RHP Jeremy Jeffress has been transferred from Helena to Wisconsin.

Why is this notable?

Adam McCalvy, take it away!

Former Brewers first-round Draft pick Jeremy Jeffress, coming off a 100-game drug suspension, was assigned to Class A Wisconsin on Wednesday and will probably spend the rest of this season as a reliever.

Jeffress, a right-hander with a 100 mph fastball and Milwaukee's first-round pick in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, had previously been molded as a starting pitcher. He threw two innings Tuesday on the final day of extended Spring Training camp and is expected to make his Timber Rattlers debut on Sunday.

"For probably the duration of this year, he will work out of the bullpen," assistant general manager Gord Ash said. "It's a proactive plan to keep him more focused and engaged. He feels, and we agree, that if he's of the mindset coming into the park every day that he may pitch, he will be more engaged in the process. That's OK with us."

Jeffress is active for tonight's game.

Baseball America put this post up late in the afternoon yesterday. We already touched on the Brewers releases from earlier this week, but I saw a few familiar names on the latest list.

Not a former Timber Rattlers, but for the number of people who came down from Marinette to see him pitch against the Timber Rattlers in 2006, we should consider him an honorary Rattler Alum.

Chicago Cubs released RHP Greg Reinhard

The rest of these are all former Rattlers:

Chicago White Sox released TJ Bohn ('03).

Los Angeles Angels released Juan Mateo ('00).

Seattle Mariners released Matt Renfree ('07) and Edgar Trejo ('09)...
