A note about a front office alum

The Atlanta Braves have named Jim Misudek as the Club's new Media Relations Coordinator.

Misudek (pronounced mish-yoo-deck) will assist in all facets of the Braves' media relations efforts. His primary responsibilities will include contributing to the production of the Club's annual media guide and daily press notes, arranging player interviews, coordinating press conferences and press box operations, while also serving as a primary media contact for the Club in spring training and on team road trips during the season

Misudek, 26, began his baseball career as an intern with the Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and spent two seasons (2007-08) with the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2007, he was an intern in the Brewers media relations department and he spent 2008 as a sales representative while assisting with media relations duties. He also assisted Major League Baseball and the Brewers media relations department with their 2008 postseason appearance.

A native of Fond du Lac, Wis., Misudek graduated in 2002 from Fond du Lac High School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Fond du Lac in 2004 with an Associate of Arts and Science degree and in 2007 he received a Bachelor's of Science degree in sport management from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.

I mentioned on my facebook page that this is a little too similar to the "Yankee Swap" episode from season two of The Office. But, at least it doesn't have Dwight sticking a teapot up his nose.

Nice way to end the year.

Q Sure it's a team effort, but what has been your big push?

A One of the biggest successes, and one of the things I've pushed ever since I became president, was taking our food and beverage in-house. It's a big portion of our business from the revenue side and customer service side. We've always had it contracted out ever since the stadium was built. In 2005 we took it in house and it's been a much bigger success than anybody ever thought it would be.

Q You put in a number of improvements last year, like the home-run porch. You sold naming rights. What about this year?

A Nothing to that size. We've added some new promotions. We've focused on making our show a little bit better during the games. There are some plans in the next couple of years to add some things to the ballpark. We want to make this ball park the crown jewel of the Midwest league.

Promotions

In his third season with the Rattlers, Aaron Hahn has been named the Assistant General Manager.

Angie Ceranski has been named the Vice President of Marketing. This season is Ceranski's ninth with the team.

Nikki Becker has been named the Vice President of Communications. Becker joined the game day staff in '99, became a full-time staff member in '00
...
President Rob Zerjav stated, "All three are vital members of our front office team and are deserving of these promotions. We are very lucky to have such a terrific and dedicated front office staff and it continues to be a pleasure to work with each of them day in and day out."

I really don't have anything to add to what the boss says. Except maybe, Congratulations to all three.
