Project #1 is that the water has been turned on at the stadium and that the sprinklers are being checked.

Where the Sidewalk ends

Shel Silverstein takes us through the progress on the boardwalk at Time Warner Cable Field. These are some pictures from some places that you were unable to get to in prior years. This year though...

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,

And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black

What a difference a day makes

Or even a few hours.

Compare the pictures below to the pictures taken at approximately the same time yesterday.






Now compare them to the foggy picture that was taken this morning...about six hours prior to these.

Melting! Melting!

The snow that is.

The first two pictures were taken from the lowest part of the left field berm that is the farthest from home plate with no snow.




These two pictures were taken from the top of the third base concourse near the, um, light pole I think.


Keep in mind that the entire field - save for the parts of the warning track that were driven on during the construction phase of the new seating areas - was completely snow-covered until about two days ago.

Patio's Progress

Just a few pictures of the new seating areas down the lines from this afternoon.

Here are two from the third base side. Picture the patio tables and box seats.




And here are two from the first base side. You'll have to picture the long countertops. But, not for much longer.

If I can't use Beatles imagery...

....to talk about the construction of the new beach area, How about Die Hard with a slight paraphrase?

This is the view you get from the first base concourse.

This is the view you will get from the top of the right field berm. This is probably as close as you will be able to get if you show up tomorrow between 10am and 3pm.
This is why we can't let you onto the beach yet. Not only is there no sand. There is no floor.


Here is a view looking back at the beach area from where the home bullpen will be.


As Hans Gruber might say, "When this is all over, we'll be sitting on a beach watching a baseball game."

Except he was German and would probably prefer a soccer game.

John McClane might have taken up to the top of the Nakatomi Building and dropped him again if he knew that little fact.

Another in-stadium upgrade

Beatles fans, forgive me

This attempt at re-writing a classic song by The Beatles was inspired by this announcement over at the Timber Rattlers website.

All-You-Can-Eat Seats available for season ticket packages

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have added a new seating option to their current season ticket packages. Fans may now purchase a spot in the new All-You-Can-Eat section on the first base side of Time Warner Cable Field. The seating area features a field level view, barstool seating, unique countertop space, and an all-you-can-eat buffet.

There is an artist's rendering of the new seating area over at the story. But, here at Rattler Radio, we wanted to give a little bit more.

So, here is the artist's rendering for the first and third base sides and the progress made by the construction crew on those areas as of noon today. Click for a larger image.

Construction Photos: 2/10/10

It may have snowed yesterday and last night, but the work crew is out making progress on the new seating areas. As always, click the image for a larger picture.
