The Autopsy

Autopsy of the Florida Winter Baseball League that is. Written by Stephen C. Smith of SpaceCoastBaseball.com has many lines worth quoting. Here are the top three:
FWBL executives privately assured staff and media that its investors had capitalized the league to operate for at least two years. Its collapse three weeks into its first season suggests that was untrue.
...
If one day there arises an FWBL 2.0, it's likely to be greeted with much skepticism by the baseball industry, which didn't have much faith in the original incarnation.
...
League executives said their model assumed an average attendance of 750 fans a game. Many observers thought that number was wildly unrealistic.

If I lived in FL they'd only have to find 749 other people...

Check that, I'd be sure to tip a few, so make that 738 people.
