What a difference a year — and a healthy arm — can make for a pitcher.
In his first California League season last year, Aaron Jensen struggled to a 3-9 record with a 7.19 ERA in 21 starts for the Inland Empire 66ers while battling shoulder tendinitis early and an elbow strain later on.
With an offseason of rest, no pain in his throwing arm and an improved mental approach, Jensen is off to a great start this season with the High Desert Mavericks.
In two starts this season — both coming at hitter-friendly Stater Bros. Stadium — Jensen has yet to give up an earned run in 11 innings and holds the best strikeout-to-walk ratio on the pitching staff at 7-to-1.
A place to follow the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League, Minor League baseball, Major League Baseball, and everything in between in that order.
