The '97 Mariners were shutout by Bob Tewksbury of the Twins on April 19. Tewksbury allowed six hits as the Twins beat the M's 4-0.
Dennis Martinez was the starting pitcher for the M's and he pitched okay. Over 6-2/3 innings he allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Terry Steinbach drove in a pair of runs for the Twins.
Ken Griffey had two hits to lead the Seattle offense.
