On to the second inning

Tim Schoeninger of Cedar Rapids is on for the West.

His second pitch of the frame fooled lefty Eduardo Perez of the Great Lakes Looooooons so badly that Perez lost the hold of his bat. The bat went flying into the first base dugout. Everyone was all right in there. Perez struck out in the at bat. Gorkys Hernandez grounded out. Then, James Skelton got an infield single.

Schoeninger got out of the inning by getting Joey Side to ground into a force out at second.

Clayton Kershaw is on for the East to pitch the bottom of the second.

And the game is tied...Matt Sweeney just hit a rocket out of the park. For those keeping track, that is four games in a row with a home run for Seeney. Hit had a round tripper in each of the three games against the Timber Rattlers to end the half...

Kershaw got the next two batters, but walked Christian Lopez. Brian Dinkleman reached on an error by second baseman Justin Turner. Kershaw got Chris Pettit looking to end the inning.

1-1 to the third. Omar Poveda of Clinton is on for the West.
