SEATTLE (MAJ: 38-59 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 9-6 to Cleveland. Shin-Soo Choo (’02) homered, doubled, and drove in three runs for the Indians. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) homered for Seattle, but the M’s could not rally from a 9-1 deficit.
TACOMA (AAA: 49-51, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Tucson 13-4. Wladimir Balentien (’04) went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, and a home run for Tacoma. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05) and Rob Johnson (’05) drove in a pair of runs for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 52-47, 11-18 5th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Jacksonville 2-0. Mike Wilson (’05) and Greg Halman (’07) each drove in a run for West Tennessee. Brodie Downs allowed one hit over seven innings for the win.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 43-56, 11-18 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 9-7 to Lancaster. Kuo Hui Lo (’07) homered and had three of the 17 High Desert hits in the game. Travis Mortimore (’08) allowed two runs on four hits with four walks and four strikeouts over five innings for a no decision.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 15-17, 2nd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox won 5-4 at Salem-Keizer. Ryan Feierabend (’04) pitched six innings and allowed four runs for Everett. The Sox rallied from the 4-0 deficit with one in the fifth, three in the seventh, and one in the eighth.
PULASKI (Rookie: 21-10, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Elizabethton 15-3. Kalian Sams (’07) had a pair of solo homers for the Pulaski. Fabian Williamson (’07) pitched six innings, allowed two runs, and got the win as the beneficiary of all those runs.
PEORIA (Rookie: 9-14 8th Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Athletics 6-5.
