Placed on 7-day DL: RHP Pat Bresnehan, RHP Nolan Gallagher, RHP Brent Johnson, RHP Stephen Kahn, RHP Ricky Orta, RHP Kyle Parker, RHP Luis Pena, RHP Yusmeiro Petit, RHP Alfredo Venegas, RHP Tom Wilhelmsen, LHP Donnie Hume, LHP Cesar Jimenez, LHP Derrick Saito, C Ralph Henriquez, 3B Ronnie Prettyman, OF Matt Cerione, OF Jamie McOwen, OF Ryan Royster

Orta had Tommy John surgery this spring, which is a tough break for a relief prospect coming off a breakthrough campaign that landed him on the 40-man roster.

Hume also enjoyed a fine ’09 season, taming the High Desert winds enough to go 17-5, 4.81 in 27 starts for the high Class A affiliate, but he's strengthening his shoulder in extended spring training.
