Seattle (MAJ: 31-36; 3rd AL West): Seattle lost 7-2 at Oakland. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) allowed seven runs over four innings to get the loss.
Tacoma (AAA – 33-33; T-2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma split a doubleheader with Sacramento. In game one, Jon Nelson (WI 03) homered and Rob Johnson (WI ’05), Greg Dobbs (WI ’02), and Chris Snelling (WI ’00) each drove in two runs; and Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) drove in a run as the Rainiers won 9-4. In game two, Shin-soo Choo (WI ’02) homered, but the Rainiers lost 8-4. Tacoma held a 4-3 lead, but Sacramento scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning off Renee Cortez (WI ’03) for the win.
San Antonio (AA – 25-39; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Corpus Christi 2-0. Justin Ruchti (WI ’04) hit a two-run homer in the second inning and a trio of former Timber Rattler pitchers combined on the shutout. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) shut out the Hooks for 6-2/3 innings; allowed five hits and struck out ten. Craig James (WI ’05) and Mark Lowe (WI ’05) wrapped up the win with Lowe getting his second save.
Inland Empire (High-A – 36-29; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat San Jose 10-1. Yung Chi Chen (WI ’05) homered and drove in three runs. JB Tucker (WI ’06) also homered for the 66ers. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) gave up one run and struck out eight over 6-1/3 innings for his sixth win of the season.
