LH EDWARD PAREDES: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.
RATINGS: Baseball America ranks Paredes as the #22 prospect in the Seattle Mariner system.
LAST WIN: Paredes took a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth inning at Cedar Rapids on May 21. He allowed a two-out single to Anel De Los Santos, but finished the eighth without allowing another hit. The Rattlers beat the Kernels 1-0. Paredes struck out four and walked two for the win.
AWARD WINNER: Paredes was named the Midwest League pitcher of the week on May 26 for his performance on May 21.
LAST START: Paredes lost his fourth consecutive decision with a loss to the Burlington Bees on June 19 in Grand Chute. Paredes pitched recorded three outs and allowed five runs on four hits and four walks. He faced three batters in the second inning and did not retire a batter.
VS. CEDR RAPIDS: Paredes beat the Kernels on May 21 in Cedar Rapids.
