Tonight's Rattler Starting Pitcher (6/26)

RHP MICHAEL PINEDA was signed as a non-drafted free by the Mariners out of the Dominican Republic on December 12, 2005.

LAST WIN: Pineda pitched seven shutout innings at Clinton in the night game of a day/night doubleheader on June 14. Pineda did not walk a batter and struck out six in a 10-0 Wisconsin victory.

LAST START: Pineda lost to Burlington on June 21 at home. He allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits over 5-1/3 innings. Pineda walked two and struck out four in a game Wisconsin wound up losing 8-2.

VS. CEDAR RAPIDS: Pineda started and received a no decision against the Kernels in Grand Chute on May 9. He pitched 6-1/3 shutout innings allowed three hits, walked none, and struck out four. Wisconsin lost 5-0.

THE START OF 2008: Pineda won his first two appearances for the Rattlers. He picked up a win in relief in the first game of a doubleheader at Quad Cities on April 5 and another win with two innings of scoreless relief against Fort Wayne on April 16.

THE STREAK: Pineda tossed 21-1/3 consecutive scoreless innings before giving up a third inning run in the start against Burlington on May 14.
