Seattle (MAJ: 25-32; T-3rd AL West): Seattle beat Kansas City 12-1. Richie Sexson homered twice and drove in five runs to power the offense. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) allowed one run on seven hits over seven innings to even his record at 5-5.
Tacoma (AAA – 28-26; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma won 5-4 at Colorado Springs. Adam Jones (WI ’04) was 2-for-4 with his team-leading ninth home run of the season. Renee Cortez (WI ’03) got the save despite allowing a run in the ninth.
San Antonio (AA – 20-33; 4th Texas League South Division): Wichita beat San Antonio 5-4. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) allowed five runs in four innings to take the loss. Mark Lowe (WI ’05) pitched two scoreless innings in relief to make his Double-A debut. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) snapped an 0-for-13 slide with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI.
Inland Empire (High-A – 33-22; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 4-2. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) gave up just three runs on eight hits over 5-1/3 innings and lost for the first time this season. The 66ers offense was held to just seven hits in the game & the Quakes moved to within four games of the first place 66ers.
