Mariner System Report (Games of 6/5)

Seattle (MAJ: 26-33; T-3rd AL West): Seattle beat Kansas City 4-1. Gil Meche (WI ’98) got the win. He allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts over seven innings for his fifth win of the season. JJ Putz (WI ’00) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his eighth save. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI for the M’s.

Tacoma (AAA – 29-28; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost the completion of their suspended game with Colorado Springs from May 4th 4-3. The SkySox scored a run in the eighth to tie the game and a run in the ninth to win. Rich Dorman (WI ’03) had a no-hitter going into the sixth, but walked eight and did allow two hits over 5-2/3 innings for a no decision. The Rainiers bounced back to win the regularly scheduled game 9-0. Adam Jones (WI ’04) hit his tenth homer of the season. TJ Bohn (WI ’03) was 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI. Cesar Jimenez (WI ’03) allowed two hits and struck out three over five shutout innings for the win.

San Antonio (AA – 20-34; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio was off last night. They are getting ready for a couple of things. 1.) A televised game on Sunday against Corpus Christi. 2.) Roger Clemens is making the start against them on that night. If you have it, the game will be on Fox Sports Southwest at 6:00pm CDT. ALso, the Texas League All-Star Teams were announced. Wladimir Balentien (WI '04) and Bryan LaHair (WI '04) are the former Rattlers to make the squad. Joining them on the team is pitcher Yorman Bazardo.

Inland Empire (High-A – 33-24; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 6-0 at High Desert. The loss was the fourth straight for the 66ers. Inland Empire’s offense had four hits in the loss. Shawn Nottingham (WI ’05) gave up all four runs in 5-1/3 innings to take the loss.
