Seattle (MAJ: 29-33; 3rd AL West): Seattle beat the Angels 4-1 to start a road trip. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez homered and Ichiro had two more hits. Former UW-Oshkosh Titan Jarrod Washburn gave up one run over six innings for the win. JJ Putz (WI ’00) got his tenth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
Tacoma (AAA – 30-30; T-2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 9-7 at Las Vegas. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) went 2-for-5 with another triple and another RBI in his second game with the Rainiers. But, it wasn't enough.
San Antonio (AA – 23-36; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Frisco 6-1. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) pitched five scoreless innings for his second win of the season. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) and Stephen Kahn (WI ’05) closed out the game for the Missions.
Inland Empire (High-A – 34-26; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Lancaster 6-4. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) made his California League debut; struck out nine over six innings and allowed two runs, but got a no decision. The 66ers scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth on a Matt Rogelstad double. Matt Tuiasosopo (WI ’05) and Yung Chi Chen (WI ’05) each had a pair of hits for the 66ers. Tuiasosopo scored two runs and Chen drove in a pair.
