Thursday's game in a word

Rough.

Rough start Paul Fagan. Three walks in the first two innings and all three score.

Rough night for the Rattler bats. Seven hits, but three of them were bunt singles and I can't recall one hard hit ball for them tonight.

Rough night for the defense. Four errors, including two on one play by rightfielder Eddy Hernandez. Oddly, those two errors didn't lead to a run. The other two led to three unearned runs.

Get 'em tomorrow.

Thursday's box score is HERE.

Hi, Josh. Thanks for the note.

I do see bright spots on this team.

Joe Woerman, Nick Allen, and Jeff Flaig since he came off the DL are three obvious ones.

There is also Nick Prosise, Jeff Dominguez, Michael Saunders, Ron Garth, and Casey Craig.

I hope that the improvements that all of the Rattlers have made over the last week or so carry over to the second half. I am pretty sure that the second half will be much better than the first.

As far as what the Mariners saw in Eddy. He has some tools. Scouts love that. He just needs to learn how to use them in a game setting.

If you saw the steady diet of changeups he swung at on Thursday night while striking out three times, you probably realize that he needs to work on patience at the plate.
