Leone & Sledge Head Back to the Show

Just looking through MILB.com before heading to bed and saw this item concerning a few former Rattlers whom we have mentioned a few times on this blog...

The San Diego Padres purchased the contract of Portland third baseman Justin Leone, recalled outfielder Terrmel Sledge and optioned right-handed pitchers Mike Thompson and Brian Sweeney to Portland on Friday.
---
Leone, 29, batted .282 with 15 home runs, 15 doubles, 56 RBIs and 51 runs scored in 90 games for the Beavers this season. He was selected to represent the Pacific Coast League in the 2006 Triple-A All-Star game and started at third base, going 1-for-3 with a double.
---
Sledge, 29, batted .283 with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, 44 runs scored and five stolen bases in 75 games for the Beavers in 2006. He began the season with San Diego, batting .160 (4-for-25) with one double and one RBI in nine games for the Padres.

Leone was with the Timber Rattlers for the entire 2000 season. Sledge was with the Rattlers very briefly at the start of the 2000 season. How briefly? Seven games from April 6 through April 14.
