Mariner System Report (Games of 7/19)

Seattle (MAJ: 45-50; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat New York 3-2. Mark Lowe (WI ’05) picked up his first major league win with 2/3 of an inning of scoreless relief. JJ Putz (WI ’00) pitched a scoreless ninth for his eighteenth save to help Seattle end a long road trip with a win.

Tacoma (AAA – 52-43; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 6-1 to Las Vegas. The 51s scored six runs in the eighth inning to erase a 1-0 Rainier lead. Rob Johnson (WI ’05) gave the Rainiers the lead with an RBI in the seventh inning.

San Antonio (AA – 43-51; 16-10 second half 1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Frisco 11-0. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’02) pitched seven shutout innings and struck out five for his seventh win of the season. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) homered, knocked in three runs, and scored three runs for the first place Missions.

Inland Empire (High-A – 51-43, 12-12 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 7-1 to Lake Elsinore. Jack Arroyo (WI ’05) and Casey Craig (WI ’06) each had a pair of hits for the 66ers. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) took the loss by giving up six runs (two earned) over five innings.

Everett (Short Season-A – 15-15; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Boise 14-10. Greg Halman went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and four runs scored to pace the Sox to the win and back to the .500 mark.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 12-11; 5th Arizona League): The Mariners lost 6-5 to the Athletics.
