Mariner System Report (Games of 7/17)

Seattle (MAJ: 44-49; 4th AL West): Seattle lost 4-2 at New York. Jarrod Washburn allowed four runs (one earned) over 6-1/3 innings for the loss. Mark Lowe (WI ’05) pitched 1-2/3 innings out of the bullpen and did not allow a run.

Tacoma (AAA – 52-41; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Las Vegas 6-5. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) hit a three-run double to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning. Rich Dorman (WI ’03) got the win by allowing one run and striking out eight over six innings. Rob Johnson (WI '05), a catcher by trade since joining the Mariners organization, got the start in left field.

San Antonio (AA – 41-50; 14-10 second half 2nd Texas League South Division): San Antonio was off yesterday.

Inland Empire (High-A – 51-41, 12-10 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire was off yesterday.

Everett (Short Season-A – 14-14; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 4-0 to Boise. Dean Zorn was 3-for-4, but the Sox only had two other hits in the game. Natividad Dilone allowed four runs (two earned) over 5-2/3 innings and took the loss.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 12-9; 4th Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Royals 4-2. Michael Garciaparra (WI ’03) had three hits, including a homer, and drove in two runs on a rehab assignment. Alex Liddi also had three hits for the M’s.
