Seattle (MAJ: 17-25; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 6-3 at Oakland. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) gave up six runs on seven hits over six innings to take the loss. Ichiro was 4-for-5 with a run scored, but the Athletics swept the Mariners.
Tacoma (AAA – 20-18; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma won 4-1 at Nashville. Clint Nageotte (WI ’01) gave up one hit over five shutout innings with four walks and four strikeouts for the win. Asdrubal Cabrera (WI ’05) and Gregg Dobbs (WI ’02) each homered and Renee Cortez (WI ’03) picked up a save.
San Antonio (AA – 13-24; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions lost 4-3 to Corpus Christi. Jason Mackintosh (WI ’04) allowed three runs over six innings for a no decision. Craig James (WI ’05) gave up an RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to let in the winning run.
Inland Empire (High-A – 22-18; 2nd California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Rancho Cucamonga 5-3. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) pitched four innings of scoreless relief for the win. Mike Wilson (WI ’05) homered and drove in two runs for the 66ers.
