Sunday in the MWL

@Kane County 19, Wisconsin 5 -- Yuck. Double Yuck. I haven't run a picture in this regular feature, but what the heck. This is from the Kane County Chronicle.

This is Jose Pineda after his homer put the Cougars up 18-5.

@South Bend 4, Dayton 3 -- Pedro Ciriaco was the hero for the Hawks. Drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth. Made a defensive play to save the game in the ninth.

Lansing 2, @Fort Wayne 0 -- The Wizards are going to be casting a "Do not return" spell on the Lugnuts. They got swept at home and have lost five straight games -- all to Lansing.

@Beloit 7, Burlington 2 -- This was a close game. Until the Snappers scored five runs in the eighth.

West Michigan 12, @Southwest Michigan 6 -- The folks in Battle Creek think that this game was a rout. Hah!

Cedar Rapids 4, @Quad Cities 3 -- The SWING missed on a chance for two straight wins. Kernel starter Tommy Mendoza had a lot to do with it.

Peoria 7, @Clinton 1 -- Todd Blackford pitches a great game for the Chiefs yesterday. The lede to the game story at the Peoria Journal-Star is Mark Prior starting for the Chiefs today.
