Mariner System Report (Games of 5/19)

Seattle (MAJ: 18-25; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat San Diego 7-4 at Safeco. Richie Sexson homered for the Mariners. Rafael Soriano (WI ’00) blew a save, but picked up the win as Seattle rallied for the win.

Tacoma (AAA – 20-19; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 6-3 at Nashville. Francisco Cruceta struck out eleven over 6-2/3 innings, but got a no decision. Nashville scored twice in the seventh and four times in the eighth for the win. Michael Garciaparra (WI ’03) was 1-for-2 with a run scored to run his average with the Rainiers to .333.

San Antonio (AA – 14-24; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Corpus Christi 5-3. The Missions scored three times in the bottom of the eighth. Ismael Castro tripled in a pair of runs to erase a 3-2 lead for the Hooks. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) singled in another run in the inning. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) gave up one run on four hits over six innings for a no decision. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) blew a save, but got the win.

Inland Empire (High-A – 22-19; T-2nd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 4-3 to Rancho Cucamonga. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) had three hits. Matt Tuiasosopo (WI ’05) drove in two of the three runs for the 66ers. Ivan Blanco (WI '05) walked six in 5-1/3 innings for the loss.
