A 12-pack, some dynamite, and a sledgehammer

That's all I would've needed...Well, maybe some cupcakes and a nice lunch, too. But, noooooooo. The Allen County board had to go with professionals for the demolition of Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
The fate of Memorial Stadium is sealed.

Allen County commissioners on Friday awarded a bid to Geiger Excavating to demolish the 16-year-old minor-league baseball park and replace it with more parking spaces.

The county will pay $1.3 million for the entire project, well below pre-bid estimates of $2.3 million, said C.J. Steigmeyer, chief financial officer for Memorial Coliseum.
I would have done that for...well, about that. Gotta cover my overhead, ya know. But, in the end, I guess they made the right choice. If they do an implosion, they better show it on the internet.
