Cedar Rapids 5 @Dayton 2: Dragons manager Todd Benzinger marveled at the record crowd of 9,444 at Fifth Third Field on Friday, May 29, and shook his head. “We have such good fans here,” Benzinger said. “They’re usually cheering us on and staying a long time to see if we can win.”

Burlington 11 @Fort Wayne 5: “When you get in a little funk like we are right now, you have to be careful that you don’t start doubting yourself,” TinCaps manager Doug Dascenzo said. “This is the same group of guys who were here at the beginning of the year. We’ve seen them do it before.”

@South Bend 4, Clinton 1: The South Bend Silver Hawks needed Taylor Sinclair to pitch like an ace Friday night. The left-hander responded with his longest and most impressive outing of the season

@Beloit 15, Kane County 2: Ozzie Lewis stroked a grand slam in the third inning and finished the game 3-for-5 with six RBI as the Snappers dismantled the Kane County Cougars, 15-2. Beloit scored early and often Friday, jumping to a 10-0 lead after two innings in support of starter Bradley Tippett.
