Brewers: April 27, 1982

The '82 Brewers got crushed by the White Sox at County Stadium on April 27. This one was never close.

The Sox scored twice in the first inning off Randy Lerch on a two-run homer by Steve Kemp. Then, it was a seven run second inning.

Carlton Fisk started the second inning with a homer off Lerch. A single, error, and walk later the bases were loaded with no outs. Jim Slaton entered to replace Lerch. Slaton gave up a grand slam to Ron LeFlore, not known for his power. Two more runs scored later in the inning, the final one coming in on a singe by Fisk and it was 9-0.

LaMarr Hoyt, a former Appleton Fox, gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the second and another run in the fourth, but was never threatened with with a big inning. He pitched eight innings and gave up only four hits for the win.
