Post Lunch Post

The sales/grounds crew part of the job had some things that needed to be taken care of this morning. Just getting to the updating part on some of this broadcasting part. Regular posting will continue in about an hour.

In the meantime...

The latest Mehring Monday is up on the Rattler website. I try, really try, but mostly fail not to be bitter in a good bye letter to the month of April.

Also, the latest Midwest League Notebook is up at the Midwest League home page. This is what it has to say about the Dayton Dragons, the opponents for the next four days for the Rattlers.
Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds) WEEK IN REVIEW: The Dragons are 14-4 and in first place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Daryl Thompson improved to 4-0 and raised his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 20 in an 11-1 victory Saturday. In four games this season, he owns a 0.39 ERA. Over 23 innings, he has limited opponents to one run and struck out 19 batters while issuing just one walk.

WHO'S NOT: IF Jason Louwsma is batting .213 (10-for-47) in 14 games with 11 strikeouts.

LEAGUE HONORS: SS Chris Valaika and RHP Daryl Thompson swept the Midwest League's Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, respectively, on Monday. Valaika had an 11-game hit streak that raised his batting average from .360 to .423 while hitting .481 for the week with four
multiple-hit games. Thompson led the Dragons to a pair of shutout wins in his two starts.

DID YOU KNOW?: The Dragons dropped back-to-back games for the first time all season Friday, aided by four Dayton errors.

The Dragons are 15-4 after their win on Sunday. Thompson is pitching Thursday against the Rattlers. Which reminds me, I haven't posted the pitching matchups for this series have I?
