Foxes led 2-0 until the Demons scored a run in the eighth and a run in the ninth. In the bottom of the ninth, Pete Johnson singled with Jim Youngdahl at first. An error on the play let Youngdahl score the winning run.

Arne Thorsland was the winning pitcher. He pitched a complete game and struck out eight.

This is the fourth win in a row for the Foxes. They are 27-20 and in second place in the Three-I League. They are .5 games behind Sioux City.

Boog Powell bounced a ball off the clock on top of the fence in right field during batting practice, a clout of about 350’ on the fly. The blow stopped the timepiece at 7:15.
They started night games at 8pm in 1960.

Jim Winters homered, his fourth of the season, for the Foxes. Chris Jefts won despite giving up six runs on 12 hits over six innings.

Appleton is 47-21 and 11.5 games up on Madison in the Northern Division of the Midwest League.
