Pat Gillick (GM #1) and Chuck Symeon (GM #2) both pitched complete game five-hitters. Symeon struck out 11 in his start.

Cal Ripken, Sr. made two starts in right field. He was 2-for-2 with two runs in game one. In game two, Ripken was 3-for-4 with a homer.
FOX TALES: Fox Cities will lose part of its pitching wealth Friday when Bert Barth (4-1 with a 1.32 ERA) leaves for Vancouver of the Pacific Coast league for a shot at Triple-A ball...Umpire Fred Blandford cleared the Burlington bend in the bottom of the sixth inning of the first game when the Bees were riding him a bit too much.
The Foxes are 36-21. They are in first place in the Three-I League and lead Sioux City by 3.5 games.

The Angels hit three homers in the top of the seventh inning. Dante Bichette - yes, that Dante Bichette - and Jeff Manto hit back-to-back homers off Edwin Correa to put Quad Cities up 2-1. Later in the inning, Tom Alfredson hit a two run homer off reliever Jeff Anderson.

The Foxes are 50-24 on the season and still comfortably ahead of the Madison Muskies in the Northern Division of the MWL.
