Mariner System (Games of 4/16)

Seattle (MAJ: 6-7; T-2nd AL West): The Mariners lost 3-2 at Boston. The Red Sox snapped a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez had a pair of hits and an RBI. Former Kane County Cougar Josh Beckett got the win and is now 3-0 for the Red Sox. (Game Story here)

Tacoma (AAA – 5-4; T-1st PCL Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Fresno 5-1. Shin-soo Choo (WI ’02) had three hits – one of which was a two run home run. (Game Story here)

San Antonio (AA – 5-5; T-2nd Texas League West Division): The Missions lost 9-3 at Frisco. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) took the loss for San Antonio. Justin Ruchti (WI ’04) and Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) both homered in the loss. Looking at the San Antonio paper's summary, it seems like a wild one. Manager Daren Brown, hitting coach Henry Cotto, and Bryan LaHair were all ejected. Brownie was here in 2003 and did not get ejected from a single game. It must have been a bad call (or as Bill Walton might say a tturrrrubal call). Can't find an on-line account of what happened. Will update if there is one out there.

Inland Empire (High-A – 7-3 T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire was off yesterday.
