Mariner System Report (Games of 4/27)

Seattle (MAJ: 9-14; 4th AL West): The Mariners were off on Thursday. The Seattle Times has a story about the early season performance of the pitching staff. A few quotes from M's pitching coach (and former Rattler pitching) coach Rafael Chaves are included.

Tacoma (AAA – 11-8; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma managed just two hits in a 3-0 loss to Salt Lake. Shin-soo Choo (WI ’02) and Asdrubal Cabrera (WI ’05) each had singles for the Rainiers.

San Antonio (AA – 7-13; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions beat Arkansas 4-3. Gary Harris (WI ’03) had a pair of hits, a run scored, and an RBI for San Antonio. Travis Blackley gave up two runs in six innings for the win.

Inland Empire (High-A – 12-8; T-2nd California League South Division): Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) homered twice and drove in three runs and Inland Empire beat Bakersfield 8-2. Matt Tuiasosopo (WI ’05) had four hits and an RBI for the 66ers. Julio Santiago (WI ’05) struck out seven in five innings and won his third game of the season.
