Mariner System Report (For Games of 4/18)

Seattle (MAJ: 6-9; 4th AL West): Texas defeated the Mariners 7-4. Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) allowed four runs over five innings and took the loss. The Rangers got to Hernandez with a couple of early homers. Willie Bloomquist drove in a pair of runs for the Mariners.

Tacoma (AAA – 7-4; 1st PCL Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Sacramento 7-1. TJ Bohn (WI ’03) had three hits and scored three runs for Tacoma. Todd Sears drove in four runs. Adam Jones (WI ’04) hit his third home run of the season. Clint Nageotte (WI ’01) gave up one run in 5-1/3 innings and struck out two for his second win.

San Antonio (AA – 5-7; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 6-4 at Frisco. The RoughRiders built a 6-0 lead through the first seven innings. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) hit a three run homer and Justin Ruchti (WI ’04) drove in a run with a single in the top of the ninth inning. But, the Mission comeback fell short. Former Clinton LumberKing Nicholas Massett pitched seven shutout innings as the starter for Frisco and gave up just three hits.

Inland Empire (High-A – 7-5; T-3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 4-2 at Stockton. The Ports scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning off Jon Lockwood (WI ’05) to snap a 1-1 tie. Mike Wilson (WI ’05) hit his fourth homer of the season for the 66ers.
