Mariner System Report (Games of 4/29)

Seattle (MAJ: 10-15; 4th AL West): The Mariners got home runs from Adrian Beltre and Carl Everett and five innings from Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) to beat Baltimore 8-6. Hernandez allowed four runs on ten hits and Seattle trailed 4-1 after five innings, but the Mariners rallied for six runs in the top of the sixth and Hernandez got his first win of the year. Eddie Guardado gave up two hits and a walk, but pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

Tacoma (AAA – 12-8; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): The game between the Rainiers and Salt Lake was suspended in the top of the second inning with no score. It will be picked up as part of a doubleheader today in Tacoma.

San Antonio (AA – 9-13; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions won their third straight game with a 9-7 victory over Arkansas. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) hammered two home runs. Justin Ruchti (WI ’04) and Jeff Clement (WI ’05) also homered for San Antonio. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) pitched four innings of scoreless relief and gave up just one hit for the win. Craig James (WI ’05) got the final out for his first Texas League save.

Inland Empire (High-A – 13-9; 1st California League South Division): The 66ers beat Visalia 9-3. Ivan Blanco (WI ’05) got the win with five innings of solid work as the starter. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) drove in three runs and Matt Tuiasosopo (WI ’05) added three hits and two runs scored to help Inland Empire take over first place in the South Division.
