Mariner System Report (Games of 4/25)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 11-13 3rd American League West): The Mariners lost 4-3 to Oakland. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) had two hits and drove in a run for the M’s, but Seattle could not rally from an early 4-0 deficit.

TACOMA (AAA: 12-8, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won 6-4 at Tucson. Jeff Clement (’05), Bryan LaHair (’04), and Yung Chi Chen (’05) each had an RBI for Tacoma. Joe Woerman (’06) picked up the win despite allowing three runs in two innings of relief work after Ryan Feierabend ('04) was a late scratch as the starter.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 14-8, T-2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx won 12-2 at Tennessee. Luis Valbuena (’06) went 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, and four runs scored. Mike Wilson (’05) also homered for West Tennessee, which took advantage of six walks by Tennessee starter Jeff Samardzija. Rich Dorman (’03) got the win with six scoreless innings.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 12-10, T-1st California League South Division): The Mavericks won 13-8 over Bakersfield. Greg Halman (’07), Travis Scott (’06), and Chris Minaker (’06) each homered for the Mavs. High Desert scored ten runs in the first inning on the way to their second straight win.
