RH JAKE WILD: Seattle’s 26th round pick out of the University of the Pacific in the 2007 draft.

NO SOX: Wild was a 17th round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2004 draft after he spent a year at Bakersfield College.

THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD: In his first season (2004) at Bakersfield College, Wild picked up seven saves and earned honorable mention on the Western States All-Conference team. In his second year with the Renegades, Wild earned First Team recognition on the Western States Conference All-Conference team with an ERA of 2.42 in 89.1 innings pitched.

BASEBALL PACIFIC: Wild was 1-9 with a 7.07 ERA and two saves in 28 games (three starts) for the Tigers in 2007. He struck out 41 strikeouts in 49.2IP.

2007 AS A PRO: Wild appeared in 17 games (4 starts) for the Arizona League Mariners after signing with Seattle. He was 3-2 with two saves and a 1.88ERA. He struck out 62 batters in 48 innings during the regular season.

VS. WEST MICHIGAN: Wild is making his first appearance against the Whitecaps today.

VS. DETROIT: He is also making his first appearance against an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

LAST START: Wild got the start for the Arizona League Championship Game against the Arizona League Giants on August 30, 2007. He pitched eight innings, struck out 14, allowed one run on four hits, and walked one for the win.

LAST APPEARANCE: Wild pitched 1/3 of an inning and took the loss at South Bend on April 21. He allowed a run on two hits with a walk.
