RH JUAN RAMIREZ: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Nicaragua by Seattle in July 2005.

DOWN IN VENEZUELA: Ramirez made his professional debut pitching for the Aguirre in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2006. He went 5-1 with a 1.66ERA in 14 games (13 starts)

ON TO EVERETT: Ramirez made 15 starts for Seattle’s Northwest League affiliate in 2007. He was 3-7 with a 4.30 ERA for the AquaSox.

STINGY: Ramirez allowed three or fewer earned runs in 12 of those fifteen starts.

LAST START: Ramirez faced the Fort Wayne Wizards on April 16 at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. He gave up two runs on four hits over 6.1IP with a walk and seven strikeouts. He left with the game tied 2-2 and got a no decision. Wisconsin won the game 6-2 with four runs in the eighth inning.

VS. SOUTH BEND: Ramirez has never faced the Silver Hawks.

VS. DIAMONDBACKS: Ramirez pitched twice against the Yakima Bears, Arizona’s Northwest League affiliate, twice in 2007. He went 0-2 against the Bears. On June 20, Yakima scored four runs on three hits and three walks as Paredes struck out seven over 5.1IP. On August 11, Paredes allowed four runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks over five innings. Paredes also struck out five in that start.
