Midwest League Action (Game of 4/19)

Complete Saturday scoreboard.

Wisconsin 5, @Beloit 3: First win in Beloit since April 12, 2006!

Cedar Rapids 2, @South Bend 1: Hawks are 2-13 after a play like this that allowed Cedar Rapids to score their first run:
The ball caromed to third baseman Clayton Conner, who appeared to have a reasonable chance to throw out Gonzalez at first. But his throw was off target into the right field bullpen. Both first baseman Mike Mee and catcher Konrad Schmidt gave chase as Gonzales kept running -- all the way to score as nobody covered home plate.
West Michigan 8, Burlington 7 (12 inn): A wild pitch ends a wild game.

@Lansing 10, Kane County 4: It just takes ten runs on 17 hits to give the Cougars their second loss of the season.

Quad Cities 10, @Fort Wayne 9: River Bandits launch five homers in a comeback win.

Clinton 4, @Dayton 3 (11 inn): Dragons fall, Manager tossed:

Initially, the umpires seemed unsure whether the hit was fair or foul and allowed Smith to keep running. Also, there was some question whether or not a runner could tag up before the ball was secure in a defender's glove.

After the official ruling of sacrifice fly, Scott blew a gasket, screaming in Alper's face. When ejected, Scott proceeded to kick dirt on the umpire's shoes and toss third base almost all the way to the Dragons' dugout.

Peoria 9, @Great Lakes 7: Legend of Lambo not enough for Looooooooooons.
