SEATTLE (MAJ: 12-13 3rd American League West): The Mariners beat Oakland 5-3. Erik Bedard allowed two hits over 6-2/3 shutout innings for the win. Greg Norton had three hits and three RBI to pace the offense.
TACOMA (AAA: 12-9, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 17-14 at Tucson. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05) and Bryan LaHair (’04) each had three hits and two RBI for Tacoma. The Sidewinders broke an 11-11 tie with six runs in the seventh inning.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 15-8, T-2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Tennessee 7-2. Prentice Redman hit a grand slam as part of a five run eighth inning. Mike Wilson (’05) added a two run homer in the ninth for West Tennessee. Marwin Vega (’06) pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the win.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 12-11, 2nd California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 7-3 to Bakersfield. Johan Limonta (’06) had three hits and drove in two runs for High Desert, but the loss dropped the Mavs into second place.
